So even in this heat our volunteers are still hard at work. Earlier this week some clearing work was undertaken at the bottom end of the diesel section at Lydney junction to allow the storage of class 08 Wheelsets. They were due to be delivered in the afternoon so the volunteer worked during the morning to expose the ends of the two sidings. Later that day the wheelsets were unloaded and placed on the track sections for storage.

Meanwhile 09106 is slowly turning grey and age has nothing to do with it. The team work around this fantastic loco changing it from its current orange scheme into Departmental grey.

After a short break it was over to the platform 2 and west loop area of Lydney junction station to clear the area between the two tracks. The permanent way team are going to build up a replacement point here ready for installation at Middle Forge later in the year. So the growth needed cutting down to allow the team to level it off and prepare the ground for the task.

Some work was done to clear around the rail stock to allow the Permanent way team to sort out the items they required. One section was lifted out the stock ready for work later on this month.
