The permanent Way department pulled off some excellent work this week at Lydney junction. They worked on the end of the west loop / platform 2 road where the line goes forward to the National railway link.

In just two days they removed two panels of track and swapped out about 50 wooden sleepers for concrete sleepers.

The use of machines in this work was vital for safety and ease of work with staff being trained by the Railway for this purpose.

They also replace three wooden sleepers before re-ballasting the section. This leaves some lifting and packing now to complete the work.
