Back to Travellers Rest

In January last year a team of volunteers spent several weeks clearing the trees and growth along this section of the old line. The aim was to clear access for contractors to repair a wall supporting the formation and bounding a neighbours property.

This year we are back again, finishing off clearance of the trees and growth which will one day allow us to extend the line up as far as the road at Travellers rest.

The northern extension project story can be viewed here. It involves completing the Parkend development with new crossing and gates, which will allow for completion of the signalling system.

As part of this work the laying of track northwards to Travellers rest opens up some operational flexibility as well as taking us a step closer to moving north over the road. So if the idea of extending north from Parkend excites you why not join us as a member or volunteer.
